Day 485 – Updates, updates, updates!
Good news everyone! I have some big updates for my transition section. I have this new comparison to show how much my facial hair has changes, as well as an updated breast development timeline over in the breast development section. They are developing quite well and I am glad that are starting to have some mass of their own. I had been discouraged with the progress of my electrolysis as it continues to grow back time, and time again, but after seeing how much thinner and lighter it has gotten, I really am pleased.
The next thing I need to update is my development and weight chart. I keep putting it off because in order to do it I have to photoshop two excel charts together to show both sets of data. If anyone knows a better way to do this, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
Anyways this was my first week back in classes and things are going well so far. I overslept and missed my first day of class but luckily one of my teachers was out sick so I only missed my figure drawing class. My internship has finally drawn to a close and I kind of wish I had a little more time in the jewelry studio. I missed a lot of time during finals and I wish I knew it would only be a 3 month internship. That aside, I enjoyed it thoroughly and Jade Gedeon (the owner) is a wonderful woman.
There is not much new for me to say about living full time, things have been going great and I haven’t had any issues for a while. There is still some social anxiety, but more often than not, I am just over thinking things. Also, It has been quite a while since I posted any ask abbey questions, I’ve made sure I answered them all but I just haven’t found the time to put them on here. I will try and go through them this weekend and post my responses to the ones I think others may benefit from.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

ALKaline Progress
I just wanted to do a quick update,
I had a great christmas and spent a lot of time with my family but I’m glad things are starting to wind down. I’ve spent most of the past week hanging out with my girlfriend and playing Skyrim/Little Big Planet 2 on my new ps3 (thank you mom and dad!). Both are great games if you haven’t given them a try. Yesterday my girlfriend and I went shopping and while we didn’t find any clothes, I did pick up some Urban Decay 24/7 Rockstar eyeliner at Sephora and a new face cleanser from Lush. I am excited about both of them and I will be sure to comment on them in the future once I know whether they are each worth the $20 price tag.
The last thing I have to talk about is a rather exciting bit of news, and possibly the only important thing I will talk about in this post. I have finally sent in the forms to legally change my name! I am so excited that I am finally moving forward with the next step of my transition. Once my paperwork is processed(most likely within a few weeks) I will get a call from the family & probate court and I will have to pick a court date to go before a Judge or court Magistrate to have my name changed. After that It should be pretty much official unless I have to run a note in the paper saying that I am changing my name.
I finally decided to change my first and middle name to Abbey Lorraine. My mother’s name is Lorraine and I thought it sounded pretty good with Abbey. The best part is that my initials will be the exact same as they were before, ALK.
On that note I hope that everyone has a wonderful new year and I will talk to you all again in 2012!

Day 459 – Happy Holidays!
Hey everyone,
It has been quite a while since I last posted an update and I apologize for that. Throughout the past month I have been overwhelmed with getting through my classes and finals, I was just too busy dealing with daily life to update my blog. However, I still kept track of my measurements and on the 6th I had another meeting with my endocrinologist. The appointment went well and my estrogen and testosterone levels are finally within female ranges. Here are my hormone levels and most recent measurements.
446 Days
4mg Estradiol/200mg Spironolactone
Estrogen: 101.36 Pg/mL
Testosterone: 39 ng/dL
Prolactin: 11.1 ng/mL
Upper arm: 12.5
Forearm: 10.5
Bust: 38.75
Under bust: 34.25
Natural Waist: 32.5
Beltline: 39.5
Hips: 44
Thigh: 25
Calve: 15.75
Weight: 185 lbs
As you can see, things are looking pretty good. My breasts are nice and round and are actually big enough to grab! My skin has become unbelievably soft (especially on my chest/belly). One thing I am really starting to notice is how emotional I can get now. I will unexpectedly start crying during movies when something touching happens, something I could never do as a boy. Earlier this week on the night before my chemistry final I broke down from the pressure and was all out weeping for 10 or 20 minutes. On the same day as my chemistry final I had to go in front of a court magistrate to contest a speeding ticket I got back in May (I will go into that in my next post), needless to say I cried nearly the whole way home. Though it is annoying at times, it is a big relief to finally be able to let my emotions out.
I spent last weekend in the Bronx and Pennsylvania meeting my girlfriend’s family during their annual christmas party. I had a great time getting to know them and surprisingly things went off without a hitch, and no one knew I was trans to boot!
I am going to end this here because I have a long day ahead of me with the family, santa is already on his way to my rooftop! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and spends some time with their loved ones.

Day 400 – Fat Tire Fury
Seeing as it is my 400th day on hormones I thought it would be appropriate to give you a glimpse into my past. This photo was taken in march of last year in Boston. Growing up I’ve always had a passion for bikes and trials biking was one of my specialties. Despite the fact that I was a guy, I still look back on those times fondly.
I have been pretty busy this week and I am just now finding the time to post about what’s been going on. My girlfriend and I had a great time in Boston last Sunday and we got some great pictures. We took the train into North Station and then hopped on the subway and headed to South Station where we found Occupy Boston. I was pretty curious to see it both for my own interest, and the photography opportunities. Just as we came up from the subway we heard a march leaving the camp towards the commons so we quickly followed. They took up most of the street and a police cruiser followed behind but it was completely peaceful. Below is a video.
After that we made our way into chinatown where we had bubble tea and stopped at japanese restaurant called Kaze Kaze Shabu Shabu. They give you a bunch of thin slices of meat that you cook in a large bowl of broth with the flavor of your choosing. I enjoyed it a lot and I’m sure my girlfriend did too!
Hope the end of that video didn’t scare you too much. Once we were full of rib eye, beef, chicken, and lamb, we stopped by the Prudential Center and then headed back to catch our train. I am pretty excited about some of my pictures, maybe once I print some I will scan them and post a few.
The rest of this week has been filled mostly with school assignments and interning. I had a minor freak out on Monday after the anxiety of having to speak in my speech class started to get to me. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I didn’t have an electrolysis appointment the same day that I wasn’t sure was going to happen, so I was stressing out about that as well. Eventually I calmed down and my body crashed when I got home, I could barely get off my bed. After a good nights sleep I was back to myself. Today I finally presented the speech that I had been worrying about and while it was nerve racking, it wasn’t that bad.
One of the reasons I was so worried about it was that I was talking about how I am trying to help others (YOU!) through my blog and by doing so, I had to come out in front of my class. Afterwards one of the guys in my class told me I had a lot of guts to talk about it and my teacher also thought I did a good job, so it was worth it in the end.
My internship is going well, today was my second day and I am starting to get comfortable with the other people I am working with. I am definitely excited for the future!
I have a bunch of questions for Ask Abbey that I need to put up and I still need to put that album together, keep an eye out for them!
