Day 241 – Transphobia In The Media

The main thing I want to talk about today is an article that was posted on the Fox news website a few days ago. The article contains the opinion of Dr. Keith Ablow, one of Fox news’ so called “Medical A-Team”. He uses Chaz Bono to describe how trans people are psychotic and delusional. He continues to repeatedly refer to Chaz as a she and says that she is not a man. I am outraged that such a highly regarded doctor can be so ignorant to something that is becoming so common today. He sounds like another one of those people who cannot accept the new generation and new ideas. I think Ablow should be removed from the Fox news staff but I don’t know if that is likely to happen considering some sources say Fox news is extremely anti-GLBT. (I don’t pay enough attention to them to know from first hand experience)
Though it was taken down from the official Fox news site, the article can be seen reposted here, and in many other places.
On a lighter note, my breasts seem to be developing nicely and I might take another set of measurements even though it hasn’t been a full 3 months yet since my last set. I hope everything is going well out there! Bai!

As for the doc – I’ve found people like him turn up in the most unlikely places…
It’s a strange phenomena isn’t it? That someone so educated can be so thoughtless.
FOX news caters to a largely homegrown and conservative demographic (which, includes a lot of old white guys in the ratings). I won’t go as far to say that the good doctor’s opinions are typical of the cable news channel’s base, but I will say that his approach to the subject — that nontraditional and different social experiences are somehow, inherently unnatural — is likely very familiar to said viewership.
If you ask me, Dr. Ablow is a boob.
